The IIHL workshop on Rules of Engagement
The IIHL workshop on Rules of Engagement (ROE) will take place in San Remo from September 10th to 14th 2012.
It will include briefings on various national and multinational ROE systems, the recently published Sanremo ROE Handbook, lessons
learned from recent operations, the relationship between IHL/LOAC and ROE, ROE training, and investigation of ROE incidents.
Additionally, it discusses lessons-learned by military officers and legal advisors who have been involved in the drafting and implementation of ROE for national and multinational operations in the land, maritime, and air domains.
ROE case studies, training models, investigation and claims procedures, and new developments (including ROE for unmanned systems and cyberspace operations), are all addressed.
